Post‑wedding “Move In Together” → UI disappears (needs/Sim panel gone) No mods

Platform: PC (EA App)
Game version (Main Menu): 1.116.240.1020 (Release 1.300.000.216)
OS: Windows 11 (10.0.26100)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti (driver 32.0.15.8088)
Mods/CC: No
Occurs in new save: Yes (fresh folder, fresh Sims 4 install)
Packs owned/installed: All EP, All GP, All SP All Kits
Online/Gallery: Tried both enabled and disabled
Main Issue :
Right after a wedding finishes, the “Move In Together” flow causes my entire Sims UI to disappear (portrait panel, needs, aspirations, and the active Sim itself vanish). I can still open Manage Households / Manage Worlds (most of the time, only one of three times did all the UI disappear and I had to 100% force quit)which brings the UI back, but the problem repeats every time I accept the post‑wedding move‑in on this patch—even in a brand‑new save with no mod 100% of the time.
I’m able to reproduce this (and found steps to avoid it but I’d like to play the game as it flows without extra steps)
Steps to reproduce (reliable)
1.) Start a new save (No mods/CC; fresh save gallery or regular sim.
2.) Have sims in two separate households gain enough of each bar (Friendship;Romance) to propose to be able to plan a wedding either via calendar or by interacting with the engaged couple. Make sure each sim has their own household and is placed on a lot.
3.) Host a wedding for your sims. (Tested with both My Wedding Stories and base game weddings and it happens either way)
4.) When you finish the wedding and it ends accept the Move In Together prompt.
5.) In the transfer screen merge the newlyweds into the household THAT IS NOT where your sim lived before the wedding (Usually for me it’s the Left side that I’m merging into) and click okay once finished
6.) Let the game load back into the lot following the prompt, → Live UI is missing (no portraits/needs/aspirations/active Sim).

What I already tried (didn’t resolve)
• Reinstalling The Sims 4 with ALL NEW folders • Full “fresh folder” (deleted Options.ini, caches, etc. AFTER the new install)
• EA App Repair (post‑purge)
• New saves, tested in different worlds/lots (both Sims already had homes and tested with different sims in different lots and homes)
• Toggling Online Access / Gallery : off • Reinstalling GPU driver and letting the game rebuild graphics config since after a setting reset it couldn’t find my graphics card and gave an error for that…
Im going to test and see if the prompt in the relationship panel causes a similar bug for me tomorrow.. I’ve been trying to figure out how to word this to get any help..

Workarounds that avoid the bug (not ideal only one I’ve found and it breaks the flow.)
Decline the post‑wedding Move In Together prompt → end event → go to Manage WorldsManage HouseholdsTransfer Sims Between Households to merge manually.

I sent the last two “LE” files to an AI and it says
“ • The gallery_interactions.py:32 stack suggests the post‑wedding flow calls the Gallery move‑in test, which sometimes receives a None home_zone_id even though both Sims have valid homes.
• The story_progression_service + university action appears in some runs, so Story Progression may be firing at the same moment and leaving an incomplete context for the move‑in. “

  • Hi BabesCakes920

could you please copy/paste the content of your LEs (the complete one). You can't upload them so you need to copy/paste the content.

Best thing is to delete all the LastExceptions you currently have, trigger the error and then provide the info from the new files created.
