Build mode not working, can't save game

I have this problem! Might be the new update. I literally can't do any event or ANYTHING without the game freezing and not letting me do a thing. So frustrating! (I have tried it with and without mods n CC, and it happens both times. So, based on that, I feel it's just a problem with the base game. I have the vampire and pet packs, and that's it-)

i'm having the same issues. i can't play the game for more than 5 seconds before it messes up. I can't place walls and i can't place objects... then I try to save and exit and it takes 15 years, so i end up just hard quitting it which loses the whole save so that my computer doesn't combust.

I suspected the issues might have something to do with the latest update or the last pack I installed (which was "for rent" and I heard people had the problems I was having after installing it), so I ended up purchasing the Lovestruck expansion pack with the hope they might have fixed whatever bug caused the problems in the first place in this newest release pack... 

This has actually worked, and everything's working just fine again, but obviously this is not a viable option for everyone as you've got to spend even MORE money to make a game work that you've already spent money on 🙄

Same issue. My build mode was lagging, could not build a wall, place objects, couldn't save the game, then it started working out of the blue and now there are issues again, but there was no game update in the meantime so I think it is from "For Rent" pack.

My issue is unrelated to that thread, I can place objects, build/remove walls/foundations/platforms just fine. But when I try to Save, the save spinny thing goes on forever, i left it to go make dinner, came back 2 hours later it was still going. This doesn't happen every time. 

I have a 2024 gaming laptop, Win11, I own all packs including Bus&Hobs. I have had this issue playing both vanilla and with CC/Mods. Game is fully updated, I just did a game repair (and deleted caches, deleted Sims 4 folder too) and had the same issue.

This started happening in just the last 2 weeks, probably it was the Bus&Hobs pre-release patch that did it.
