Businesses & Hobbies - can't use cash register to run a shop?

Without mods, you can’t tend the register on a retail lot either. It’s basically decor, just required decor for a Get to Work retail lot. Since Businesses & Hobbies is a different pack, they don’t require you to place a Get to Work item.

Yes, there is a difference in how sales work - in Get to Work you have to have your sim or an employee walk over and process the sale while Businesses & Hobbies is more self-serve, allowing your sim/employees to focus more on creating additional merchandise and/or teaching.

You may never see this but I'll give it a try. I know it's not what some of us really want but you could compromise and just have the register as a prop. It will at least look like a legitimate business. It's what I'm doing. It's there just for looks and, at least for me, it provides a little bit of that "real" feeling.

Just consider it for a while before deciding.

That rude. Because most small businesses in real life have a cash register. I mean, if you own a bakery underneath where you live, how are you going to sell your product without a cash register? The cash registers don't work in this pack.

I am having the same issue. I have three businesses with three different sims owning it. And one of them is a clothing store. And the cash register doesn't work there either.

Well I think this is because the plan is intended to be a small business, like a garage sale or so
