Can't click on any sims or objects / mouse sensitivity cranked up

 

This is my wife's favorite game and she has over 3000+ hours clocked but when the grim reaper update launched, it absolutely wrecked her game.

 

The game loads in but the mouse sensitivity is way too fast and sometimes the screen goes black when zooming in and out. Another major issue is she can click on the UI but no actual Sims characters or objects.

 

I've moved all mods out, cleared cache, re-installed vanilla, tried older saves, disabled EA overlay, etc etc.

 

I'm at a loss to what to do next and my wife is LOSING her mind. I feel like I've tried everything!

 

Has anyone run into this or have any workarounds for a similar issue? I've searched high and low online, different Reddit threads, EA official forum, YouTubes, etc.

 

She's invested so much to her builds and it would be DEVASTATING if she can't get back to her game.
