Can't finish blast to the past event week 3

I started week 3 of the event on the Ghostwriter disappearing desktop not knowing that it's unbreakable and that it would interfere with the event as it being unbreakable means that it never triggers the repair or replace part. I'm not sure how to fix it as I've tried hiring the repair service but he just leaves and when I replace the computer in build mode it doesn't fix it. Anyone know what to do??
