Cottage Living- EA Desktop

I use the EA desktop app because I have the Xbox game pass and that includes EA play. This is how I play the Sims 4. I would like to purchase the Sims 4 Cottage Living expansion, but it doesn't show up in the DLC section. Am I missing something?

  • Just figured out the fix for this issue after being with customer support for a couple of hours.

You can get Cottage Living without it being on the EA Desktop with Game Pass Ultimate. My fix was, buying the base game off of Origin (It's super cheap atm) and also Cottage living.

Because EA and Origin are merged together, any game packs you have bought through the EA Desktop app will be playable whenever you launch Sims4.

**I had bought Cottage Living w/o buying the Sims4 base game and it would say I didn't own it and needed to buy it. Even though, in my order history I had bought it and it said I did own it. Buying the base game fixed this issue**

    Hi, @Chotabeam

Are you able to purchase Cottage Living from the Origin store via a browser or through the Origin client?

Yep, I am. Just wanted to make sure I can access it in EA Desktop before I buy it.

@Chotabeam EA Desktop is in beta, thus not all DLCs may be available. If it's not showing up in the store it has not been added (yet). If you want to play Cottage Living it should be available through Origin.

There is a DLC tab on EA Desktop that will show you what is available to play.

I am also having the same issue. I purchased Cottage Living from inside of the game, even had the same format as if I had purchased any other game from inside the EA Play app. When I boot up sims4 and go to manage worlds it says I own it, but I need to download the pack. When I go to downloads, its not there since it has not been added to the EA Play App. I can't go into Origin and download it since I have linked my Xbox account to my EA Play App instead of (Because of Game Pass Ultimate). Do I need to wait for it to be added for me to download and play the pack even though I have bought it?

**Also when I go inside the game it gives me the option to buy Cottage Living even though in game it registers that I have purchased the Pack**
