Dream home decorator completely broken

I cannot play any gigs properly. When I get the notification that the gig hours are in session, I travel to the lot as suggested and as soon as I get there the residents are either leaving asap or are already gone and not there. So I cannot interview them, understand what they want in which room, style etc. Then I cant call them back or do a reveal because its as if the gig is not registering as started even though it has the circles with questions marks and the progression of tasks I need to complete for the gig to finalize in the UI.

Please help. I paid money for this pack like everyone else and so It feels insulting that it doesn't even work in the slightest...
