I think about 90% of my sims have gotten this as of now. Even if some of my Sims are in there ideal careers (my painter sim in the artist profession) seem to just get this fear when it makes absolutely no sense. Another example is today one of my newer Sims came back from work and got promoted... He also returned with the fear of a dead end job... HOW DOSE THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE!!! He just got promoted! That is the farthest thing from dead end you can be!

Actually I got rid of defending for a dead end relationship by talking to the spouse. I have traits just for a bonus when it comes to that.
Apparently fear of cheating requires constant complaining about love. And, that now boosts relationship quality. Because before I was shrugged off.
I guess pushing the job around should be good enough. Like asking for bonuses. Instead of slacking however.
But, all the Sims traits count up. Because if the mood is not right I will not get the opportunity to find the boss in that situation.
Still. Consider the wearying spiritual powers.
I don't know why they remove comments. But, the Sim I got going on only gets respect with the current game. I only get to stay home all the time. With moodlets getting an avarage of 8 at a time. I once had 12 moodlets with bonus Sad and scared of a ghost. And she starts to glow with Green Hearts When She's all maximized.
The darn wants should at least make sense, I could deal with them (even though I liked the whims system very much) if they just made sense. My sim came home from a date, where he'd just gotten engaged...gets an immediate want to break up with him. What??? As for the Dead end job fear, most of my sims work for themselves, and are technically unemployed, while others take the manual labor job just to pay the bills while they do other things they like or make better money during the week. (side jobs, Freelance, etc) So the dead end job Rarely applies! So it just sits there, affecting my sim now and then. If I get too annoyed with it, I have my sim take an 'errand' job in Finchwick/Cottage Living, then my sims can talk about it to a friend and it goes away.
I followed Kaori Nishidake to school, when she got home both her grandparents had fear of dead end job (in my save they are not retired) and fear of unwanted dreams. I had not even played them? And then they get tense and angry because they are ignored so I fulfill one wish that they had before going to bed, when she wakes up the same morning she is tense again because of unwanted dreams and also angry over her job?
What is this? It feels like my sims are forcing me to follow their wishes?
@logionX From my experience NPC can and will gain fears, what make this stupid because an NPC don’t have the autonomy to get rid of this fear for himself. This problem occurs heavy with elders and fear of death. So, you got a bunch of elder NPC which scream and run in panic so longer you play so more elder got this fear. I know some players find this funny but if all elder end with this fear its not funny anymore.
Normally I would make a bug report, but I just can’t test it in a vanilla game. The whole game is unplayable for me in vanilla since High School Pre-patch, and this bug test need minimum 3 in game weeks to test it correct and confirm that it occurs in a vanilla game too. (So, nothing which I can confirm with a simple new game and create-a-sim, play maximum 1 sim day as it was with the bugs for the toggle Wants&Fears/Fame)
I agree, stop messing with The Sims 4 EA!!!
After a long play session on the weekend I noticed just annoying this has become. I was playing a family and both the adult sims eventually got the fear. With the latest patch I did see EA add a new potion to remove the fear. Only down side is that you have to pay 300 satisfactions points for it which to me is too high considering this fear is so widely complained about at the moment.
