Funeral home & cemetery pack

The sims need to create funeral pack so the older sims can prepare themselves for the end of life and make payments on their funeral and casket. Also add the job funeral director to jobs and giving sims the ability to learn how to prepare the bodies to be put in the ground. Create a cemetery for graveside service as well.

  • I'd honestly like a graveyard pack in a less realistic vein, with ghosts and the like... which admittedly we can do in-game by setting up a lot as something different (I've seen people set them as museums, parks, and generic lots), putting our tombstones there, and marking the lot as Spooky. But I can see how there might be interesting gameplay involved with cemeteries, including funerals, rememberance of Sims past, going there for Spooky Day, etc.

(Of course, I think they should also have the "set to be Spooky" part optional so people who hate the idea can turn it off. But I like the idea of visiting the graveyard and being able to chat with the ghosts.)

  • I was thinking the same thing. The Grim Reaper shouldn't just do his thing then leave and that's the end of that sim.

Death is as much a ceremony as weddings. Let our Sims grieve and get closure with funeral ceremonies! Instead of wanting to go cry it out in bed!

One of my custom holidays is Remembrance Day, where you have to interact with a tombstone/urn and a ghost. Because I have a cemetery ("museum") lot, we always go there to do it. It has the spooky lot challenge. I'd love to make it a Haunted House, but...

I suppose I could create a groundskeeper and have him/her live in a haunted house and bring the tombstones there... Then again, part of the reason why the ghosts have their graveyard lot is so they won't come break everything on their relatives' lot...

  • I specifically came here to make this suggestion! I would love a funeral pack with a casket for our Sim to lay in during the funeral service, a graveyard, gravestones, maybe a fresh dirt plot to place over the grave site to indicate there is a body there, and flower arrangements for the funeral and the grave site, THE ABILITY TO HOLD A FUNERAL SERVICE with more than 8 sims in the building and an officiant...

I feel, with the "full lives" that our Sims are now able to live (with the addition of university, "real" weddings, and -soon to come- high school) we should be able to round that life out with a PROPER goodbye to our Sims family members. I turned death off in my game because I feel there is no point. Sims just drop dead and that is it. There is no proper goodbye, there is no real closure.

It can be done because we have weddings and soon we will have a prom. Both are events. The Sims team can just remaster a casket (that our sim can lay in), create a Lot trait, a headstone, and the ability to make a funeral event (where the participants will get a "sad" moodlet). They can make it a KIT if that is easier. It would be the first kit I would be willing to purchase. A base game update would be better, but I know we already ask for a lot as it is so...
