Game won't load

Since the last update: My game will bring to the main menu, but if I click on load game, which has no mods, it will not load. It will start, but then it will freeze, and I can't exit out of the game. It leads to a complete restart of the PC. I have "repaired" the game, multiple times in hopes that it will fix it. I have cleaned out my PC as much as I can. What is going on? It's very depressing that this game still has so many bugs and it's been out for ten+ years. Also, side note, are there going to be reimbursements for those of us that bought the base game, that is now free? And if all the base games are free, Sims, Sims, Sims3 & Sims4, will we be reimbursed for all of those base games that we have purchased? All of my games besides sims4 are on disc. Also, I am able to play all the other games offline - why does Sims4 need to be connected to the internet to run properly. If I hadn't spent half my life playing Sims and having so much time and money wrapped up in this game, I would walk away. That's how disgusted I really am. Fix it. Please. AND BRING BACK SPIRAL STAIRCASES!

    No cloud storage, no error messages, new folder created, doesn't move past the main loading screen and then it just freezes. Sounds stop, can't get to main screen of PC to control anything.

    What happens ? Are you getting any errors ? Was a new folder created ?

    Are you using oneDrive/an external drive or other means of cloud storage ?

    The game won't take me to the main menu any longer, I restarted to see if that would make a difference. It made it worse.

    This did not work. It was a good suggestion. This is second time I did it, just in case.

    Try the following

    - Close the game
    - Rename Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4_Old
    - Repair the game
    - Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. 
    - Start a new save game
    - Check if you still have the error
    - Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

    It does it with all saves. I created an update tester base game no mods save. I have had mods, just not in this save. I pulled them completely from my game, and have not put them back in, since the last update. It just freezes and won't load. I have removed my game and reinstalled and I get the same thing. Even tried created a new game, same thing.

    Does it matter which save you are loading ? Does it happen with all of them ? Did you never have mods/cc in your game or did you remove them ?

    For the spiral staircases please use the feedback forum. You can play all Sims games offline. You just need put EA app in offline mode.

    And no, there will be no reimbursements for the base game.
