Houston...we have a problem.
Howdy, this is my first time on the forum! So I apologize if this comes off as dense or unnecessary but, I just want to talk about aliens. Not Area 51, or Roswell, but the aliens in the Sims 4. Out of all Occult Sims (outside plant-sims) I feel as if Alien Sims fall beyond flat. I understand their inception was early on in the game, but have they really change since…? It's been over 11 years at this point, and I feel as if my Aliens will continue to land directly on their face due to lack of both attention and overall care. Many players of this franchise know of Pollination Techs, Birth Queens, and abductions yet Aliens in the Sims 4 honestly feel like regular Sims with just a couple of dated interactions? We can't even choose a new and colorful skin tone, which is crazy to me because you can choose frog eyes for your Sims now, but you can't even turn an alien red or yellow. Faeries, Werewolves, and Ghosts could practically paint themselves rainbows yet Spell-Casters, Vampires, and Aliens are all stuck with the dated green to indigo spectrum of simplicity. What gets me so upset about it is that outside of CAS at least Spell-Casters and Vampires have things worth playing for? You can become a Grand Master Vampire, you can become the ultimate Spell-Caster right, but aliens…what can you do outside scaring Sims with a probe. -_-? They don't even have a skill-tree??? Why continue to spoon-feed us Sims 2 nostalgia and lore if we can't even do much with one of the first occults in franchise as well as the basis of your main character's lore? What is Bella Goth's story without aliens and a literal abduction? Sixam is a single lot world that you have to fight tooth and nail to even get to, but wowie here's a forced fed Batuu pack because we're about lose the IP. UGH! I want better for Aliens in the Sims 4, and it doesn't help that replaying the Sims 3 has made me realize just how useless Aliens are specifically in the Sims 4. Honestly speaking if I wanted a boring blue Sim, I would just choose the limited blue skin tones they keep for giggles. After all this “quality of life” rigmarole breaks my game even more, I hope eventually they'll refresh Alien Sims…but at this point who am I kidding, the one and only refresh we've ever had was for Spa Day. Which was 5 years ago. WOAH WOAH WAIT--- MAYDAY! Mayday, I think my ship is steadily sinking and I've lost all hope. At least I can still zoom around in my UFO on TS3, until my Aliens finally pick their faces off of the ground, ciao!
