How to turn off time-limited events

i am having the same issues and nobody can help, we need answers

a) it's ugly 

b) it breaks all of the immersion

I don't want to do the challenge, I don't want play the equivalent of a mobile game, why the hell can't I opt out? What kind genius thought of this? Not even going offline solves this, jesus

Does anyone know how to fix this at this time? 

Not everyone wants to celebrate the grim reaper or cares about these rewards.  I cannot believe this is going on for 8 weeks.  EIGHT WEEKS I am basically not going to play because I am forced in an event.  The worse part is...IT DOES NOT EVEN WORK!!!  The mailman standing there waving at the mailbox.  There should always be an opt out button. 

Yes i hate this its so bloody anoying sitting up there i dont want this in my game full stop I hate it!!

An opt out would be nice for those that don't want to do the event.

For the issue with the mailman remove your mods and wait for them to be updated.

I always close the EA App (as well as the background one) with Task Manager for performance issues, yet I still get the quest. 

Not only is it a nuisance visually but it's immersion breaking, I'm not playing a sandbox game to be forced into quests ! Why isn't there an option to opt out ?!

Seriously this is not an MMO or a single player quest game.  Save it for My Sims or free play.  I can’t believe I have to wait until this event is over to play my game. 

Finally, they fix most of the bugs from Lovestruck and then they add this broken event without an opt out button.  

I haven't found a mod that specifically blocks, disabled or turns off the event. But, and since EA only cares about the majority (socialism at its finest), here is a list of mods that "interfere/block" some of the event in a way that may make it more tolerable to some. Me not really, but give them a go I guess and see if it helps.

Greetings - I have no desire to play this event and it is, indeed, interfering with my gameplay.  Hopefully the next time EA/MAXIS decides to do something soo intrusive and unwanted, they will allow gamers to opt out.
