HSY/Parenthood. grounded flaw.

So I discovered today that a teen sim that is grounded cannot go to school from leaveing the house cannot attend an active day of school. I have not tested for inactive yet but either way it's bizzar.

I feel like no compatent parent would ground their child from school. And it does more harm then good by falling behind in school. 

Is this an oversite a bug or done by design? because its annoying. Does anyone know of a mod or work around that fixes this issue. If not could someone make one?

    Seems like the simplest, and most obvious, workaround is to stop grounding your Teens. Aren't there other punishments you could use? I almost never use punishments in TS4, even though I do have Parenthood, because it seems more like punishing myself than the Sims.

    The alternative would be letting the grounded Teens go to school without joining them. I don't know if that will work but it shouldn't take very long to find out.

      That would just take away story telling elements and would be boring.
