"Judge Décor" Needs to Go!

I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one fed up with "Judge Décor". I'm fine with them getting a passive Moodlet for being in a room with items they like, like how "Well Decorated" works, but interrup...

    @iamsweetmystery I have DHD and I stopped my Sims from doing this by removing any furniture "Likes". Sometimes lately, since I added Growing Together they have randomly gained some Likes somehow and as soon as I spot that I go into CAS and delete them.

    When they had Likes they were even getting up during the night to admire a footstool. It drove me up the wall.

@iamsweetmystery   Hi!  I agree with you about the interruptions.  It would be better if we had an option to turn these off.  Maybe we could get an option to "disable decor reactions"?  At any rate, I never give my sims decor likes or dislikes for this reason.  Same as @simsplayer818 , if ever I notice them interrupting actions to "judge decor", I immediately use the simology panel to enter CAS and remove the likes/dislikes for decor.  I know this isn't what you're asking for but perhaps a workaround?

Also, you're right about the potential for ruining lots and sims by removing DLC when you've used items from them.  However, you definitely can remove them on PS4.  To do so, you would have to uninstall the full game, then install the the base game again and only the packs you want, leaving the other DLC uninstalled in your Game Library.  If you ever wanted to test what happens when you remove DLC like this, perhaps you could first make copies of your save files on a thumb drive to preserve them.  Once you see what happens and, if it's really bad, you could then reinstall everything and load your saves back as if nothing ever happened.  It sounds a bit tedious but just a thought and possibly another workaround.

@JonaO703 - So far, I have deleted Décor Likes from Mellie. She had 6, which I was able to easily redistribute among other categories like Music, Color and Fashion. Personally, I think the best long-term solution is to eliminate reactions entirely and make make Décor Likes a passive Moodlet trigger for being in a room that has that Décor. That would eliminate both the interruptions and the need to add a toggle to the settings. Such a thing already exists for having high Environment effects for furniture, giving the Nicely Decorated Moodlet (or something along those lines. I forgot the exact name.) Décor Likes and Dislikes could function the same way but +Happy (for Likes) or +Uncomfortable (for Dislikes) Moodlet according to the types of furniture and deco nearby.

Side note: Uninstalling and reinstalling would be a massive nightmare. I have every DLC on PS4, like, what is it now? 68? That would take ages to reestablish my game.

    @iamsweetmystery     Believe me, I know what you mean.  Personally, I wish they would remove sentiments.  Some of them are cute but others are really disruptive.  Unfortunately, I just don't think that's going to happen.  I also doubt they will remove "judge decor" reactions completely.  Whatever the case, hopefully the team will take your suggestion into consideration.

      @JonaO703 - I appreciate the support, and I agree about Sentiments, at least to a degree. If nothing else, they need to be toned down. Thanks to "Festering Grudge" I've stopped giving my Sims the soccer ball. Staying angry at their partner for days over an accidental bonk to the head is patently absurd. The romantic sentiments are sweet, but the angry ones are often disruptive and disproportionate to the cause.

      I had so many hiccups with DHD I've learned to just use it for the nice furniture and not much else. I avoid the gameplay until it's (hopefully) fixed. I wouldn't be without the furniture though, I use it everywhere. I think we really needed those modern kitchens, beds and the sectional furniture. It reminds me of the Ikea Home Stuff pack we had for Sims 2 PC and I'd been hoping we'd get one for Sims 4.

      So I don't use the furniture Likes, I don't use too much of the shelving with the rounded edges because they have a slotting issue and are the worst for vanishing to the household inventory on travelling and I try the career again every now and then but that is also still very bugged which is a shame because it would be my favourite career otherwise.

      So I treat it as a Stuff Pack really for now and love the content but not the gameplay. I still recommend it to people for that reason but I warn them of the problems. I have to be honest it really does disappoint me that it is still so problematic though because it has really great ideas and designs.

        @simsplayer818 - The books Kit has the same issues with its modular shelves as well. They don't want to link in straight lines. I get ones that I try to stack vertically, and they absolutely refuse to snap how I want them, but will snap diagonally instead. Once they're linked, separating out, deleting or moving just one is nigh impossible, like they're super glued together. The modular snapping mechanics are just plain broken across the board. This is true of the shelves with DHD, High School, and the books Kit. I do sometimes use the shelving units from these sets, but generally only as single stand-alone pieces. It's rare I can be bothered to fight with the janky link system.

      So, last night, one of my elder Sims died of elderly demise. Her daughter pleaded for her, the other daughters were headed to witness death and cry…

      …and during this sad and solemn moment, Grim interrupted the reaping to go downstairs and criticize the decor, with the dislike decor thought bubble and a circle and line that suggests that perhaps Grim dislikes Mission decor.

       I could have used MCCC to remove Grim’s decor dislike, but I was too busy being dismayed. How long does their mom have to lie dead on the floor while Grim reacts to her decor style?

       I… can see how some players might find this funny for “funny” deaths that they triggered themselves, but this was NOT COOL. 

      (Admittedly, I only let her die because my save file is exploding, so… it was a sad moment for me.)

        @xochiquetzl_xkvn Oh gosh, that's even worse than the reports I've seen of Grim pausing a reaping to use his phone!
