Since I have Lovestruck the game has become unplayable for me.The Britechester environment is unplayable, it causes error while traveling there. I just avoided traveling there. But now, after playing for a minute the game crashes to the desktop. I can't play the game anymore.I play on PC with Windows 10, I don't use any mods or CC. I have not changed anything in the system and computer settings. I have never had any problems with the game before.The problems started with the last update. After the last update I had problems with the EA app, but I cleared the app cache and the app started working, then I installed Lovestruck, and after a week of "normal" playing (avoiding traveling to Britechester), the game started to crash to the desktop. Repairing the game didn't help.

@sonoscoppio Can you try the steps given here: https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/crin-error/faulty-events-error-code123-misc-numbers/ to get rid of the error (it will probably just come back though).I'm not sure what's going on with the crashing though. Could be something else.If the crashing continues after fixing the families, I would just play another save until EA fixes the bug, then go from there.

@sonoscoppio Do you have this issue with the 123 error affected save only or also if you start a new one for testing purposes ?

@crinrict I had the 123 error in Britechester, but I avoided playing in this environment, and in other environments I could play normally, but since yesterday the game has been crashing to the desktop after about a minute of playing.
It just crashes to the desktop, specifically to the EA app on my desktop, and all I can do is restart the game from EA app and after a minute of playing it crashes to the desktop again.

@crinrict I have checked the new save for testing purpose just right now. The new save doesn't show any errors in Britechester and the game doesn't crash while playing in other environments.
What can I do to make my old save work again? I really need this save that I have been playing on for a year.

@crinrict I just noticed that my game problems started yesterday after building generic lot type in Strangerville. I sent my Sim there with a few other invited Sims and only hired a barkeeper to serve the bar. The moment I left the lot with the active Sim and returned to his home, the game started crashing and I could no longer play in any neighborhood.
I followed the advice you gave, I evicted that Sim and moved him back to his house again, and it seems to work, I can play families in different neighborhoods again, but now I am afraid to build and visit any community lots because that seems to be the main problem.
I think I will have to wait until EA fixes it anyway, because I also have noticed that some of my Sims are appearing double on community lots. Something is clearly messing up the save.
However, thank you very much for helping me.

@sonoscoppio Hate to tell you this but it doesn’t appear EA cares you spend money and your game doesn’t work. I created a brand new save no mods and no cc and my game froze as soon as I placed something from gallery (a room without mods or cc). My game functions for a short while in a new save and stops as soon as you actually try to enjoy it. The issue is not mods or cc. It’s the sims 4 itself. I have followed every advice. I have switched to dx 11 and now I’m thinking about going back to dx 9. Nothing works. Mods don’t matter. I am currently attempting to use (I wouldn’t call it playing if all I do is play the event EA told me to play or I am looking for things that are breaking my game and have destroyed my save). I think I am at a point where after playing sims 1,2,3 and now 4 EA simply made this game unplayable. First through bad design (lacking in creativity and ambition) and horrible coding and now through complete incompetence. My game crashes no matter what I go. I can check the spect on my laptop all they want but the issue is EA. They just keep mass producing game expansions despite the fact that people cannot even open their game or can’t play for longer than a few minutes. I don’t think they care and they will not fix it. I played a bit yesterday just to get the stupid reaper event done because it’s clearly causing LE. (Without cc or mods) I realized how absolutely dreadful this game is in terms of gameplay but also how incredibly buggy it is. My sim has managed to cancel half the tasks I gave him, I had 8 random phone calls, one sim invited himself in, I had 15 visitors, the reaper froze in my lot, the city festivals vanished from the calendar (I needed lilies for the reaper event so I though I’d might get them on the romance festival which apparently no longer is on the calendar) and then my game completely crashed when I tried to place a basement. All of this in about an hour of attempted gameplay. since for rent the reported game breaking errors have been mounting (when I say game breaking I’m not talking about sims using the wrong sink), people cannot play at all and EA responded by adding 2 more expansions and an untested event without giving players a choice in the matter. I personally think that answers the question of will it be fixed. They don’t care. If they can sell the next expansion kit and make money this game will not be fixed. They already got paid why bother when you can scrap it and create a new game.

@CircuitD I think, the problems you are talking about is not the game, but the hardware you are playing on. Your laptop is probably too old. Most laptops are not suitable for gaming (typical gaming laptops are much more expensive) and it is always better to play on a PC. A mid-priced laptop will always be worse than a mid-priced PC.
You say you want to go back to dx9, so how old is your laptop? My computer is 4 years old and when I bought it, the GPU was already compatible with dx12. Last time I had dx9 on my old Win7 PC, and that's a technological era long gone.
Just buy a new PC at a mid-range price at least and most of the problems you described will be solved.

I have a Nitro 5 gaming laptop with 16 GB ram, 1T SD drive and a Nivida Gforce GTX graphic card. My game was working with 65gb cc and mods without a hiccup until For Rent and now suddenly it crashes with no mods or cc and it’s suddenly my laptop. It’s not the laptop. I hate when people try to blame everything by EA.
