The settings issues not saving our preferences is affecting most of us console players atm, there's a bug report about it on here 😀 Really bad lag and long load times on console could be because you've got too many not in world sims/unplayed households in manage worlds, too many save files and generally too much stuff across all your saves. I used to have insane lag, even the world map used to lag so bad I'd have no choice but to quit the game before even pressing play. I got so annoyed I deleted seven out of ten saves that I really didn't care that much about, went into manage households on the saves I kept and deleted over half of the unplayed not in world families, deleted a lot of photos from my sims inventory and ones that were on the walls and deleted eveything I could get/earn again from their household and personal inventorys and in storage boxes. Now I always load not resume and wait till all the neighbourhood family icons have loaded in by hovering over their homes, do the same with my family and when it's loaded in I just leave it for a bit till my consoles fan has quitened down then I start playing. Since doing this I have experienced zero lag, my sims are quick doing things and overall my game is much much smoother even with every new update. I do still experience random sim glitches from time to time but that's just the nature of sims 4 on console I think 😔
