not sleeping in own bed, going to farthest toilet/shower,dishes in bathroom, ect

When I ask my sims to sleep (in sims 4) by clicking on the Zzz in their needs tab they tend to go anywhere but their bed, a bench, the couch, a tent I understand if they weren’t assigned to a bed or weren’t a toddler, but I really wish their first choice was their bed. Sometimes some sims even resort to other sims beds. Also I wish that if they didn’t have a bed they would sleep in an empty bed (not claimed) and THEN a couch or something else if another empty bed isn’t an option. Sometimes they just grab coffee and while that can be nice sometimes, I would rather their first option to be a bed. Another thing that I’ve seen is a problem is sometimes sims will woohoo in other sims beds… that’s just gross lol, maybe can you guys fix that unless someone actually makes them do that? Also, sometimes I have problems with my sims other needs ex: when sims need food sometimes they’ll grab burnt popcorn and I’ve seen them just grab bread or they go and cook a meal that takes hours (sometimes that’s better) but sometimes I wish they would go and grab a sandwich from the fridge. Also with the bathrooms they sometimes choose the farthest toilet away or shower. I wish they chose the closest one unless someone already cued it. Also please fix the washing plates in bathrooms, just have them wash in the nearest sink or maybe have an option to set kitchen sink or something that would be nice. Also sometimes sims just leave plates on the floor or leave a mess, I feel like unless they have the messy trait they should put it in the dishwasher autonomously.
thank you 🙂

  • LOL yeah, the way Sims choose items for solving needs, doing dishes, and woohoo is super buggy, IMHO. I mean, if I've assigned beds, parents should choose to woohoo in their assigned bed rather than their teenaged daughter's bed, or grandma's bed. (Ew, boundaries!)

The thing with washing dishes in the bathroom is just... there are mods called things like "don't wash dishes where you angry poop" and "don't prep food where you angry poop." I couldn't say it better myself!

And yes, the beds and naps! YOU HAVE A WILDLY EXPENSIVE PRINCESS CORDELIA BED THAT YOU UPGRADED! so WHY are you sleeping on a metal bench outside in the rain? It's as if for naps the bed is the item of last resort! The autosolve for sleep is basically useless, IMHO.

I've posted on the bug forum about my adventures with the poor soul in the Secret Agent career who would come home after 18 hour shifts completely trashed and would choose to walk up three flights of stairs to pee, then walk down three flights of stairs to wash hands, then pass out on the way to the bed....

And don't even get me started on the bread! They have butternut gnocchi, or lobster thermidor, or omelets, or any other kind of food, and all they want to eat is bread! which with Simple Living means they eat up all the bread and can no longer make Eggs and Toast to use up some of those eggs. Grr!  That's an INGREDIENT, not a meal!

  • I dont have the cures to your problems but I can offer a couple of explanations. The dish washing problem is easy to solve, they (EA) could make bathroom sinks with no 'wash dishes' in the tuning, but they don't. It's very simple in fact so simple even I can and do delete this instruction on bathroom sinks. Using the furthest toilet can be fixed by giving all sims the Steel Bladder Trait, using reward points or whatever they are called. Make sure they use the toilet just before you add this so its working straight away. This works when you are playing them but if you leave them and return they will undoubtedly need the bathroom (and be hungry, tired and haven't talked to anyone despite living with 7 other sims). I can't play without this trait it saves so much time and trouble. Pretty sure the programming cant tell how hungry a sims is, sometimes they will wait until in the red to eat and other times they are pointlessly grilling stuff? I also try and give all my sims the neat trait but after an update last year this has added some of the most annoying behaviour I have ever experienced and causes cleaning loops by NCPs that I can only stop by debugging them, only for the fools to start scrubbing again. (I dont have the dirt & dust pack.) I tend to drag plates into the sink when they are left. I have not seen my sims ever choose a sofa to sleep but that's maybe because I always click the bed and send them to sleep, I'm a self confessed control freak. I hope a little here has helped. 👍

Yeah, I love the Steel Bladder trait, especially in saves where one of my Sims has the recipe for Snaggle Fluster. It does get rid of the happy buff from the bidet, though, but for that poor Secret Agent (who has since changed careers) it would have been worth it!
