One of my Sims died while I was offline

I've been back on the Sim train for a couple of months now and something new and strange happened to me last night... I went to check on my Households and found that one of my Sims was missing.  I continued on with another household and found her as a Ghost at a bar.  I'm not sure how she died while I wasn't playing with her!  This was a first for me, and I'd like to just get rid of her, but I'm not really sure how.  When I'm back at it tonight, I'm going to see if her husband can invite her over and send her on her way to the afterlife.  I don't like playing with Ghosts in the Sims.  I think it is STUPID.  Now I've got to start over with a doppelganger out of CAS with 0 Skills.  it's very frustrating.  I also deleted her toddler and added a new one so that it would be related to the doppelganger Sim and her husband.. uggggh.  I could just about pull my hair out.
