UGH, Neighborhood Brawl! I always forget to delete it, but I hate it, too, and never let my Sims celebrate it.
I might create an empty save with nothing in it but my holidays and use that as a "base" to create new saves in the future.
(How I would do that: Create household as required with random Sim. Move them into an empty lot. Set up holidays as desired. Evict and mark unplayed. Save. Exit to main menu. Name something like "template" or "default holidays." Future saves would be launch this save and immediately Save As with a new name so as to leave the template untouched.)

@xochiquetzl_xkvn This is a the standard and only work around since EA somehow did not realize we might want to copy our calendar between saves. Unfortunately the trouble is doing this does nothing for pre-existing saves if you decide to revamp your calendar. It's really unfortunate and not something EA or modders seem likely to fix from the looks of it. It's really a shame they didn't make the calendar a separate file like your settings is. I would have preferred to keep back up copies for any saves that used a different calendar and just plunk the file in and out. Maybe this approach isn't possible because some things are tied to closely to the households in the save file somehow.
