Interesting question to which many players would love an answer.
*Sims saved to the gallery will keep all skills, traits and completed aspirations.
*Household funds will be reset to a base amount when downloaded from the gallery.
*Each household will maintain relationships with the Sims in the same household.
*Houses or other customized lots can be shared to the gallery and downloaded into a new game.
...You might have to use a cheat like FreeRealestate on to move them back into their home in another save.
*If the total number of household members in all three households is eight or less you could temporarily combine them.
*That would preserve their in-game relationships and they can be split into different households later.
That should get you a head start on achieving your goal.
