Re: New Social Menu Feedback

I agree with you, and I'm eyerolling too! I think, if everything is in its own subcategory now, then family stuff should go in its own category too, and it should be put it on the second page of options under more choices-->friendly-->more choices, where 'small talk' often ends up, so it's also four clicks deep. Why is 'Small Talk' buried so deep?

Sorry about ranting. Please, EA, put 'small talk' options first in the friendly menu and have more options from it on the first wheel. I also feel as if my game has been wrecked by a sales tactic and feel pressured to buy Growing Together because it might 'fix' things, and the pressure is so egregious I honestly thought the heavy focus on creating family was an oversight and therefore a mistake and a bug.

I play with aging off; the normal game lifespan is not nearly long enough. It takes time for my sims to get into a relationship, it's not just a different life for them but also a different gameplay experience for me. What I'm trying to say is that having a family is an option for some of my family oriented sims, not a lifetime goal for all of them. Most of my sims prefer having a lot of friends, dating, traveling, working, taking long breaks between jobs to go on holidays, and doing fun things with friends. I want my game to reflect this. It's logical to want this, because its also the starting state for sims; before they can start a family, they have to meet someone and get into a relationship. Please make the vibing and living life Small Talk options more accessible and prioritize the family stuff when there's a family.

I personally think Small Talk is a little bit unnecessary and could just still be covered by Friendly and all on the first couple of pages of options, instead of all the clutter of random things my Sims never use. I'm searching for Small Talk more than anything and my Sim is filling the silence with mischief/flirty interactions.

On another annoying note, it's affecting my pet interactions now too. I've just had to report a bug which drove me up the wall yesterday for 4 hours. I recreated my dog rescue (I'm rebuilding my game due to massive bugs) and it's always worked before. My Sim adopts dogs and rehomes several to family and friends and keeps 7 for herself. She also befriends all the strays she meets and they stay/eat at her kennels. But pet interactions are broken and things are missing from the menu. I'm seeing interactions that shouldn't be there and I'm losing important ones. It worked before the socialisation was changed. Adopt keeps vanishing or doesn't appear when it should, but Feel the Love pops up instead of Adopt. I've never got Feel the Love talking to a stray, ever. I've filed a bug report anyway but I was furious. I had one sick dog (wellness treats don't always work) and couldn't Adopt him because socialisation was all over the place. Plus several others she's at max friendship with that she can't adopt.

I also took her shopping with her family and had to suffer the socialisation menu there too. Ooh grrr, it really wound me up lol. Let's just say a few "forbidden words" were shouted in my house yesterday.
