Re: Occult Ideas

For Plant Sims... right now, their main "power" is talking to plants, and they need sunlight and water and don't have a bladder need.

The thing is, the most reliable way to become a plant Sim is to become a level 10 gardener and spam-open rare seed packets.  (I've also had Patchy give magic beans, and have found Forbidden Fruit of the Plantsim in Eco Lifestyle dumpsters while "diving for meals".)  Level 10 gardeners can already talk to plants, so you're just gaining the "sunlight and water" mechanic.

So it would be awesome if they had some new abilities, like to improve plants?

@xochiquetzl_xkvn  idk how easy/hard it would be to implement, but I think it might make sense if Plant Sims had aspirations or moodlets related to environmentally friendly things - like cleaning up Sulani or improving the Eco Footprint of neighborhoods. Maybe a chance for positive moodlets in the Island Conservationist and similar careers, or something related to the activism in the Politics career track?

I just think in terms of immersion, Plant Sims need to be fleshed out more. Kinda like Island Living did for mermaids and Sulani residents - stuff like the Child of the Ocean/Child of the Islands traits, and the siren abilities of mermaids. Something equivalent to Sulani Mana for Plant Sims might be cool (it just makes sense for them to have, like you said, an ability to improve plants), or an affinity for forests and such (maybe Sylvan Glade?) like mermaids have for the islands. Right now, the closest I can get is giving them the Loves the Outdoors and Likes Gardening traits, which is fine, but it would still be neat if there was something unique to Plant Sims to put them on par with other occult sims.

@bubonickitten  Those are all awesome ideas! and go quite well with a lot of my gameplay.  (I play a lot of gardeners, Conservationists, Eco-Inventors, etc.)  And yes, something like Sulani Mana would be awesome for them!

Oh, so, someone upvoted my post so I have more, lol.  :D

It would be really cute if vampire kids could have a dark form, like alien kids have a disguise.  Spellcaster kids can already summon a familiar.  Maybe merkids could talk to fish?

(Okay, I admit it, I'm a little sad that I can't have my Harry Potter magic boarding school in the Sims without mods.)

@xochiquetzl_xkvn Yes!  It would be so awesome if kids could actually have magic school.  Maybe like scouts or drama club?  It's kind of a tease to have them "playing" with magic in CAS but not have any options in live mode.  Child and Toddler sims should have some options; toddlers accidentally turning their toy into a toaster, child sims getting training in the magic realm, etc.

Yes!  Spellcaster kids accidentally casting Morphiate on Blarfy from time to time!  I love it!
