Re: Sexual preferance issues with special NPC

@Betablockr

NPC Sims do not have a gender preference as default. They get a preference when a played sim does a romantic interaction with them. If your sim is female they will get a preference for females and if male for males.

    So I just tried to romance Grim for the first time after it was added back into the game, intending to try for a baby, and it turns out Grim is not interested in women.  I have not tried to romance him before this is any male characters, so why is he apparently gay?

    In basegame you only have the option to woohoo with Grim. Trying for baby requires the Life & Death expansion. You can however create a science baby with him.

    @Spiro12 - Grim’s preferences seem somewhat random to me unless it is indeed based on the romantic interaction performed by a sim as jpkarlsen indicated in post #2. I had my sim (female) flirt with Grim when he showed up in a flirty mood during week 2 of the Reaper’s event and when asked, he was romantically interested in women and his woohoo interests were both men and women.

    Now I’ve also been helping out my son with the event and the household in his save consists of a male and a female sim (not married nor boyfriend/girlfriend). When asked about romantic interests, Grim replied “None”, but I also didn’t have any of them try and flirt with Grim before asking and I can’t remember if I asked about his woohoo interests.

    I’m kind of curious as to how this works actually as I’ve seen an influx of randomly generated townies with no romantic interests in my son’s save and as a result of the no romantic interests, romantic interactions are greyed out, because the active sim “knows and respects” the other sim’s interests. Whether or not this also applies to Grim in that save, I’ll have to check later, but I think I did read somewhere that both Grim’s romantic as well as his woohoo interests were usually none, but maybe I misremember.

    After using some trickery to actively define Grim's preferences I came to the same conclusion.  I got him interested in WooHoo, but no Try for options.  It was weird because when he wasn't interested the Try for options were in the list but greyed out, now they're simply not in the list.  It's fine, though, I can wait, I just wanted to clarify how he was setup... which hasn't been done, exactly, except that I forced the issue on his part.

  • I have life and death and am experiencing the same issue currently. He says he's not interested in woohoo with female sims, seems to be a bug.

    I'm dealing with this, too. Got excited to try for a grimborn kid only to find out that the grim reaper in my save had 'no one' generated as his woohoo interests. Everything I've seen online about changing it has said to open the sim in cas to change it - but I can't find an option to do that with grim (I'm guessing because of his status as a special NPC) and I can't find anything about cheats to change his orientation without editing him in cas. Really disappointing.
