Re: Werewolf are annoying to play

@jordyou23 , I do understand your reason not to like the lack of control with Werewolves. To be honest, I was a bit surprised that you could transform when it wasn't a full moon.  However, just like @daikoyu mentioned, I enjoy the challenge! 😉 It makes for some interesting stories for my Sims, makes them feel more unique, and provides challenging gameplay more like the kind of gameplay we had in general with the Sims 1, Sims2, and Sims3!

Not every gameplay mechanic will be for every player.  Some people don't care for the Fame system in Get Famous, or playing with pets in Cats & Dogs, while other people have these as their favorite features.😅  But I wouldn't give up yet until you try some of the werewolf traits that you can choose to help you control your werewolf.  Some, (such as Will to Resist which sometimes let you overcome your fury and return to human form) can be chosen when you gain points towards your Werewolf abilities.  Others like Werewolf Empathy, (which lets you calm other Werewolves down) are hidden abilities and can only be found when you do certain things in the game.   But it is the Werewolf Empathy trait that all of the members of the Volkov household have (those are the Leader of the Moonwood Collective and his adopted son, and an elderly woman. (I'm not sure if Wolfgang who is also a member of this pack has this ability or not because he does not live with the other members, so I have not played him yet.)  So, the entire Volkov household can instantly quell your fury, so this sounds like you would prefer to befriend this family , or else play as them, or you can work your way to gaining the Werewolf Empathy ability yourself. 🥰

Also, you will want to try to gain some blue temperaments as they reduce fury!😇

@daikoyu , I hope they don't nerf these temperaments either! I find them fun to figure out, and they can also interact with the other temperaments to make interesting situations.  I had one werewolf that started out with the Hates Being Wet temperament (like the Sim you mentioned) but also later developed the Needs to be Clean temperament, making me choosing the Groom Self trait a no-brainer since it was essential for her to be happy! 🤣

@PugLove888I'm not keen on challenging gameplay as well I prefer less challenging. Yes, you can choose when you're werewolf turns with a locked power you can get by your werewolf not being seen by another sim. The last challenging the better for me.

@jordyou23 , well, if you don't like to use the traits and other mechanics in the werewolf pack to control werewolf fury, and if you are playing on a PC or Mac, then perhaps there is a Mod that can do that for you!? 🤔 If there isn't one yet, there might be in the future. 🙂

LittleMsSam has some mods 1. Feral Run Lowers Fury and Less Fury Gain both under her random small mod. Zero has too some werewolves’ mod but I don’t know if he/she create something was management the fury gain.

I play since a while only vanilla, and werewolves is the first DLC which I don’t needed really a mod for it, so I don’t search active for mods for this DLC.

@PugLove888 Reading this thread, I know this pack isn't for me. Too bad because there are a lot of cool features aside from werewolves that would be fun to play with. Maybe EA should release a Stuff pack or something....
  • the best thing about werewolves is they feel like a werewolf they dont have control in mythology they are raging beasts which is why i like it also the challege feels rewarding sometimes

Yeah, so far I've only played Moonwood Collective, which is all about managing your fury. This is more my usual playstyle, TBH.

@jordyou23 , Well, that can't be helped at this time. 😥  Hopefully Sony and Microsoft will allow Mods/CC to Sims 4 in the future! 🤞

@columbia93 , well, not every pack will be a good match for every player.  As long as you have the packs that would be a good fit for you is all that matters! 🥳
But when you say there are a lot of cool Werewolf features , and then say "Maybe EA should release a Stuff pack or something...." , do you mean just that EA should start releasing stuff packs again, or that they should release a Werewolf stuff pack?  (Sorry for my confusion.😅)

@xxcrazewolfxx , what you described sounds like the hidden Werewolf ability called Werewolf Empathy that I mentioned in an earlier post.  Members of the Moonwood Collective have this ability. 🥰
I'm glad you are enjoying how wild the werewolves are in this pack, and that they feel more like the werewolves of mythology! 🐺😎

@SheriGR thank you!  I'm so glad you are enjoying my Werewolves that I had you test for me!  I still have not put them on the Gallery yet as I haven't been able to play much this week, but I will put both the skilled and the non-skilled versions of this family on the Gallery soon (in case anyone wants to try them out).  Their names all have something to do with wolves or werewolves.
Also, thank you for mentioning the Lunar Howl as the name of the trait I was talking about that lets you be able to change your temperaments! 🥰 Sometimes I want to say so much that I forget a few things! (And the pictures of the icons for the traits are always helpful! ) 😀

The reason why more skilled werewolves can be more difficult to play is only because as they become more skilled, they get more temperaments to juggle! 😅 But as we learn which temperaments do what , and how to manage them, this won't be as difficult! 😉  And of course this depends on their Sims personalities and which Werewolf traits you choose (or unlock if it is a hidden one)!  But mostly I found by playing the Marrok family that @SheriGR was tested for me was that the teenager in one Save game was easier than he was in another Save game, all due to which temperaments he ended up with.  I found a considerable difference with him with different temperaments (it was like night and day!) which is good because you want the temperaments to make a difference in gameplay! 💗🥳

I had to get several CC items like feet, a tail with several coloring options, legs and walking style to even begin to think of those furry sims with a big dog mask as werewolfs. But we cant make them immune to negative effects at all and that is just bad design. I couldnt even find any way to trigger toddlers to howl but they and children are constantly enraged by teeth. The balance is abit off here.

Im looking at my apex werewolf right now. Its raining, he is playing the the rain, having a good time... while "hates being wet" is active.

I play with vampires since the pack came out and werewolfs use a similar, practically identical system. Except the negative effects. My vampires are a delight to play with but werewolfs are so difficult and require constant attention. They are almost as bad as babies and those are just objects where we have to guess their needs.

These things require a serious overhaul.

@Zasz_Zerg Your adult sims teach your toddler sims to howl in the friendly category then they will be able to do it on their own.
