I'm having an issue with my Sims being unable to put their food away in the refrigerator after the cook & eat it. They act like something is blocking their route and they can't get to the refrigerator, even if I put it outside or in the middle of a room without anything nearby. They can take things out of the refrigerator just fine, but they can't put anything away. Is anyone else having this problem?
What? You're kidding me! I ALWAYS use that food delivery bag debug object on the porch on a debug stool in ALL of my builds. I'm gonna test this tomorrow. I will be SO happy if this works. I am beyond annoyed sims cannot put food away. that is their job, not mine.
I have a similar issue except I can’t drag food items into the fridge. I’ve tried deleting the fridge and buying a new one but it still doesn’t work. I don’t know if it’s because I have simple living lot trait on or if it’s the lot that I’m staying in
I continued reading the posts on this issue and found out that a debug item I Always use was causing the issue. The debug Zoomer's Delivery bag. (brown bag with the red image in the front) I deleted it from my build and sims could once again put away leftovers. Some also said the same issue occurs with the brown bag full of groceries? Hope this helps you too.
@JadedJordan As far as I'm aware the 'Simple Living' trait should not effect your ability to drag 'allowed' items into the refrigerator. (Not all items can be added to a refrigerator.) Can I clarify and share few thoughts and questions?
Do you have Mods/CC and if you do have you tried testing with them removed to see if the issue remains? (Directions in spoiler tag):
Try moving the Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then check in a new game save to see if this issue is still occurring. You can test without saving in order to identify which CC/Mods are causing the issue, then remove or add updated version(s) of the Mod/CC causing the issue.
Is this a lot you made, one from the gallery, or one that Maxis made (that came with the game/pack/library?
Have you placed debug items on the lot, have you enlarged items (with the ] bracket), or used MOO (Move Objects On cheat) to place items on the lot?
Do you still have the issue if you place the refrigerator in the middle of the room or in the yard, with no items around it for several tiles, placing it where it snaps to with MOO off and without using alt-placement adjustments?
Where are the items located that you're trying to add to the refrigerator? (In the Sim's personal inventory, on the ground, in a storage container, etc.)
Do you still have the issue if you drag the food item to the ground, then try to add it to the refrigerator from there?
Is this happening on all lots or just this lot?
If nothing above is the issue, can you share a screenshot of the issue?
Thank you so much! I was having this issue with a house I downloaded from the gallery. Sims would NOT put food away in the fridge. The builder of the house had put a grocery bag from debug on the counter as decorative clutter. As soon as I got rid of that grocery bag, my sims were able to put food away in the fridge again. Thanks again! :-)
For me the fix was removing a debug item. I used to put a Zoomers Delivery Bag (base game) on the porch. I removed the Zoomers bag and voila. I can't deny the possibility that other debug items may cause this issue. but removing this one item fixed it for me. hope this helps.
