Sims Mobile Family Frame Promotion gives Error 8 when submitting phone number

I'm having the same issue. I'm always getting an error code of 8. But I am still getting the texts. I'm a bit lost, and the picture frame seems pretty cool to not want to get. The fact it was on the main menu again made me jump at the chance! 

But to no avail. I can only hope that this gets resolved!

I already claimed the frame a while ago so I cannot test. 

Have any of you searched the catalog to be sure it is not there.

Yes .. sound crazy but you never know.

Do you currently have The Sim Mobile installed on your phone?

Are you using the same phone number to claim the frame?

A patch was announced to be released Tuesday 16th July 2019

You could wait until you apply the patch to try again.

Mods or CC might interfere with the registration process.

Try removing (not disabling) mods / cc and delete the localthumbcache.package and any other cache files.
Test the game to see if the issues are still there.

Yes, I checked the catalogue and even tried to the search feature and a new save and it never came up. I did download the sims mobile app on the phone I sent the texts to, using the link that it told me to use. I already had my mods disabled from the June patch. Deleting my cache *maybe* made the load icon continue longer, but it still ended in giving me an Error Code 8, though my phone still received the text message with the unique link. The Your Collection section of my main menu also still shows it grayed out with the red free banner.

Thanks everyone for reporting the button is showing on the main menu. I'll make sure to forward this information but please, keep in mind this promotion was available during The Sims Mobile launch and it ended long time ago - it's not currently available.

If anything changes we will let you know, but please, be aware that downloading The Sims Mobile nowadays won't unlock the Family Portrait in your account.

Hello, is there any possibility that the promotion will return? I really really want to have the portrait.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? If you open your game and there is a grayed out icon in the "Free Stuff" that, when opened a gives an option to send your mobile phone number to EA to collect a Family Portrait item.
What happens when the bug occurs? I open the icon, type in my number, it sends me a text, but them it shows an error message (usually error code 8). Then I restart my game and I still do not have the Family Portrait item.
What do you expect to see? I expect to receive the Family Portrait item.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I am aware that it is 2019 and this promotion was in 2018 but for some reason it is shown on my screen.  Is there a way to claim this reward?

After the Rebranding update today I am actually in version 1.53.115.1020 and it still has the exact same issue.
