Sims not showing up at home/Stuck in self care mode

I cant see my sims when i go into the lot, i cant click on them(not even shift click), teleport them either. Theyre stuck in 'self care mode' I tried to reset them but it keeps saying 'sim not found' when i type in their name, i tried evicting them from the lot and moving them back in but that didnt work either. ive restarted again and again but nothing works. even mangaing new households works at the start but when i exit and come back the problem starts up again!! Help!!
