@jennifer88665 Hello! Unfortunately, there are potential bugs with almost every expansion and game pack. Just thinking about the bugs, added game play and BB / CAS items, my vote is for Cottage Living. Although, if you only care about the BB and CAS items, then it's a matter of choosing between an Asian theme and an English Countryside theme. As for gameplay, CoL has a bit more to offer; cows, llamas and chickens as well as wild foxes and rabbits, farming large crops and fairs that give sims the opportunity to win prizes for their farm related entries. The only downside that I've noticed for CoL is a bit of lag when you choose the simple living lot trait and your sims' fridge eventually gets bogged down with all the ingredients your sim will stock. I do think SE has a few more problems than CoL. Folks are still reporting issues with the mountain excursion / Onsen bathhouse and lifestyles that come with SE. With SE you do get some festivals but I've had some issues with those as well.
It depends on whether or not gardening and keeping farm animals is your jam, and also whether skiing and snowbarding and hiking and Japanese aesthetics are your jam.
I love playing gardeners and live in the US south and therefore have never been skiing or snowboarding, so it's an easy choice for me! If someone else found in-game gardening super-boring and was from Denver and crazy for skiing, snowboarding, and all things Japanese it would be the opposite easy choice for them. :D
