Strangerville Households Missing (only)

Hi all. I haven't posted in years on the forum but am a long time simmer on the forums. Some of you may recognize my screen name.

Recently, somewhere between late February and March this year; my main save file I've had for the last 3.5 years has lost all the Sims in the Strangerville neighborhood, only. I have never played with that neighborhood or pack as of yet because I have been too busy creating, building and expanding my game with packs and builds. I started the Sims 4 era in Dec 2020 and so as you can imagine, I had a lot of content to play with at once. (I'm a builder first, then player at heart). That said, I didn't notice my game had this issue until recently when I accidently clicked Strangerville instead of Oasis Springs on the main menu and then I noticed it. Moreover, I then realized I hadn't seen those sims in any towns in a while. (They would show up at local restaurants and such).

I tried loading previous saves and a new save. They are fine. Its my current primary save file.

My max sim count is only 127 because I keep my save in order.

Older saves from before the late February are fine as well. New saves, fine the sims are there.

I did try repairing the game. That didn't work. I had hoped the next patch would resolve the issue, but todays 5/28 patch did not do it.

I suspect this is For Rent related...? I just had the thought, what if I uninstalled the Strangerville GP and reinstalled it?

Thanks for the guidance feedback and help....

I recalled a simmer on YT mentioning issues with SV with one of the recent patches, but I didn't even think twice about it.

I did just get the idea as i posted this that maybe I could uninstall just that game pack and reinstall and maybe that would fix the issue. It is ONLY SV households that shipped with the game missing, hence why I think it's a glitch or bug. However, I am having a very hard time finding info online about it, despite recalling that note from a comment on YT from a simmer.

Any suggestions? Any info you can direct me to? I don't want to continue to expand that save if that file is corrupt. It's odd to me that it's only SV.

Thank you all!

  • @Conclue Haven't seen any reports about this happening.

Disabling the pack is probably your best chance to get them back but you'll loose all content from SV you used in the save.

So basically do this: Disable the pack, load your save game, save under a new name, close game, enable pack again and check if they are back on the copy.
