Teen has no school

Not sure if this will be helpful to anyone, but I've been playing with this sim for the last few days and it happened again. school gone from the school careers tab, and no school related options for her anywhere. Except this time she had a little purple icon of a school bus in the bottom left corner of the screen under the picture of the active sim (not sure if that area/those icons have a special name), when I hovered the mouse on it it said she was sad because she was expelled from school. After about 2 minutes that icon had gone, didn't say anything about being expelled anywhere else, no notifications, alerts, pop up messages etc, and not sure why she was expelled as had A grade, attended all classes/exams, did all homework/extra credit etc.

anyway googled how to get back into school when expelled and it said to use cheats (shift + left click on that sim), select cheat sim info, then remove trait, then expelled from high school. After that go to find a job on phone or computer and select high school student. Not sure if you need cheats enabled on to do the shift click thing, as I literally enable cheats as soon as I resume a game, so for me it's always on.

Thank you for your help. I can't upload her to the gallery as her name and appearance is based on a real person that I'm no longer in contact with, and I feel it wouldn't be ok to share her without knowledge/permission from that person. However your suggestion solved my problem as I saved her household to my library, then put the household into a new game and she was enrolled in high school. So I went back to my original game evicted her household (her and her brother), deleted them, then placed the saved household back into the house. I still have all of the progress I had made with her aspirations, and as she/brother didn't have any other family or important relationships apart from each other I'm very happy with the outcome. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for the suggestions, I hadn't thought to try either. Unfortunately they didn't work. I traveled to the high school lot with her on Friday morning, hung around for a few hours then went back to her home lot. On Saturday I got the do you want to go to prom message, went to prom, then after party with her. Then on Monday I went to the high school lot again. There was no change to her school/career tab. Thanks again, really appreciate the help.

If you havent already done this, try playing through a few days, and see if the option comes up at the time on the next day when she is due to go to school. Also having your sim travel to the high school and back home again may help.
