@PlumDutchess Hopefully that will be the issue and you can find which Mod/CC is the issue. You can test with an infant from the gallery in a new/vanilla game save after removing the Mods folder and cache file. Please try doing so as follows: Close your game. Move the Mods folder from your "The Sims 4" folder [Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4] to your desktop (save it for reference) and delete the localthumbcache.package file in your “The Sims 4” folder. Then see if the issue is gone, in a new game save. 🤞
You can also check the 'broken Mods/CC lists' here:

It was the MoreWoodWorks from LittleMsSam. Particularly the LittleMsSam_MoreWoodWorks_Addon_CounterFreePlacementFix.package part of it. Which makes sense, since it's about placement.
I love weeding through all my mods every time I find a new issue. I wish I didn't love mods as much, since I have so many to go through. Although the 50/50 method works pretty quickly.
Thanks for the help.

@PlumDutchess I'm so happy you found the offending Mod... and now you can watch your infant try out applesauce!! 🥳
Thanks for letting us know the results and the Mod to watch out for! 🙌
