The sims 4 - Get famous - Influencer Perk not working

hi guys wondering if anyone could help or point me in the right direction.  i have the influencer perk in get famous, it stated that i would receive gifts and collectables so far i have only receive...

The gifts and collectables appear in your mailbox in the form of Fan Mail.
These items are sometimes not so wonderful like minnows or spoiled food.
In my experience there are very few higher quality items.
