Hmm... The steps do seem to be correct... I'm guessing when you enter the careers.add_career Adult_NPC_Nanny cheat (should work correctly), you do get a notification that your sim is now in a Nanny career, correct?
Has the game generated a nanny before or does it generate a new one when you hire one?
Being a ghost and having at least 1 fame level would disqualify them also, but I don't think that could be the case...
