Unable to hire additional vets for my vet clinic

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats and Dogs, City Living, Get Together, Get to Work, Parenthood, Vampires, Dine Out, Outdoor Retreat, Bowling, Vintage Glamour, Digital Deluxe updgrade
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It happens when I have a vet clinic and am attempting to hire additional vets under Mange Vet Clinic. I have tried to hire employees while the clinic is open, before I open, and after I close with the same result.
What happens when the bug occurs? The Additional Vet#1 and Additional Vet#2 vet clinic perks do not work. I have purchased both of them - when I hover over the shopping cart in the vet perk UI, it tells me that I have already purchased them. However, when I try to hire a 2nd vet, nothing happens when I select a vet from the list of people available to hrie. When I hover over the slot at the top where their picture would be, it shows a lock and it says that I need to purchase Additional Vet#1 perk in order to hire another vet.
What do you expect to see? I should be able to hire three total additional veterinarians to work in my clinic, instead of just the one that is unlocked by owning a vet clinic.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

In this screenshot, you can see that I have purchased the Additional Vet #1 perk.

However, when I go to Manage Employees, the second slot is locked and it says that I need to purchase Additional Employee Slot perk. When I click on the Sims below that are available for hire, nothing happens.

No, I don’t have any mods attached to the game, the only thing I can think of is that I downloaded the vet clinic from the online store...
it seemed to have happened when my original Sim died.. as I am having a problem with her cat as well. I created a new sim who bought the clinic and moved into her house with the original cat. The cats icon is greyed out as if missing and is no where to be found but i can’t do anything as if it was missing (no missing animal posts available etc..) it’s just not there anymore. I’ve tried selling the clinic then rebuying it, I’ve moved households. Not sure what else I can do. It’s just a bit annoying more than anything as the clinic is now 5 stars so I want to avoid having to reset anything haha if I have to though, I will!

tested your save and can duplicate your issue. Couldn't find any solution though as I think removing the perk with cheats doesn't seem to work either and I think the main issue is, that you have the perk but it's not registering. Don't think it has anything to do with the clinic itself cause buying a different one has the same effect.

To get your cat back: Move the Sim out and back in. That worked for me.

Thank you! I might have to try a new game with a new clinic and see if it happens again or not and I will try that with the cat. 😊
