You lose everything not immediately part of the household in CAS. All relationships- friend, family, or foe - that are outside of the household will be gone. You might be able to reconnect sims with cheats but the more of them there are the more complex that will be. You also lose inventory.
Traits, age, looks, and skills will transfer, along with relationships that are within the household.
