Do you move your sims around a lot or stay "local"

When you're doing a Legacy Challenge do you stay in the same home or do you move around?

I'm asking because in my current game I'm trying to get to 10 generations. I'm halfway there, currently with two kids in uni and the parents and two other married adults in the house. I've modified the house so it's enough room for everyone. But I'm torn between having the kids move out to a different house or town after they graduate. The old folks will be alright. The only thing I'll really miss is the money they rake in because they've all maxed their careers.

Both kids graduated from HS early...one is going to be a musician, the other is going into law.

  • It depends on any new Worlds that comes up.  When Ravenwood arrived, I moved my Addams Family from Forgotten Hollow to Ravenwood & downloaded their house from my Library.  Back when Henford (Cottage Living) arrived, I moved                       Snow White's household & downloaded her cottage. Also, I moved my Regina Queen with her Dark Castle to Henford.            That's all I can remember because I have four different Timeline Game Saves with my Worlds.

FYI: If any simmer wants to check out any of my saves, also they are all vanilla with my packs. They are saved in the Gallery under my username SEREFRAS

  • I haven't played a legacy challenge since I started playing the game, but when I first got into the game, it was right when lilsimsie started her university let's play with her legacy sims. So I missed when she played 10 gems on that one lot in Oasis Springs. If I do play, I would want to move about into different worlds depending on the heir and their style and career

  • generally  move during legacies,  as the story bids me -- though I'll use family members to keep the house secure in case my Sim decides to move back.   I did one legacy where I was explicility trying to move neighborhoods every generation, as well as focus on an aspect of the game that didn't get touched on in other generations.

  • My Sims usually move during legacies, but where and when depends on the story that's emerging.   I did one legacy where my goal was to move neighborhoods every single generation, and use that generation to focus on a unique aspect of the game (collecting gems,  running a ranch, etc).

  • I don't move around a whole lot and if I do I usually stay withing the same neighbourhood.

I'm currently playing in Forgotten Hollow and all four of the houses are owned by siblings from a legacy type game.  I like that I see them around all the time and it's easy to keep up with the neighbours. All the houses have mushroomed to fit the families.

  • I move around a lot. The worlds don't offer much and I get bored. I mostly do family play so I move usually each generation.

  • I don't actually really play legacies, however, I will have a type of legacy planned for my Sims.

I tend to have different family dynamics. So, the set up may already have a husband and wife, or in another family siblings are 'moving' into a world to start a new life. From there I decide what to do with the next generations. if I have a husband and wife, I will usually have them have a big family, and either choose the first born, or the Sim I like the most, and make them the heir. For siblings that live together, they will each have kids, and become the founders to their own individual families. However, the older sibling may keep the original house, and their sibling may move out.

For the chosen heirs, they will live in their childhood home, with any previous generations, unless I move the parents out to retirement. The children not used as heirs will move out, and I will either keep them single, have smaller families, or join an occult. I have plans for some non-heirs to become vampires so that if the original heir's family dies out, they can move in, and take care of their home, until a new heir is decided on.

So, the heirs will stay put in their home, and the non-heirs will explore the world, with some moving back to watch over the family as a member of the oocult.

  • Both. My matriarch (vampire) has had the same house since 2019. Her kids moved out, but when they had kids, the one who was my "heir" moved back in with the matriarch until they were a teen or adult. Then they move out, do their own thing, have kids. And one of their kids moves back in with the matriarch. On and on. Her house is huge and has so much stuff in it.
