Is there a cheat to build pools and fountains on beach lots?

Change the beach lot to a residential lot, and then add the items you want, and then after you are finished turn it back into a beach lot.

You can't build fountains, pools, or basements on a beach lot. I've tried. If Sims 4 had terrain leveling cheats like 2&3 did, it might be possible, but these cheats don't exist in 4.

Hmm... As builder myself, I've been thinking. You wouldn't be able to build fountains, but you could sort-of have a pool. In the shallow water, build a square (or whatever shape you want) for the pool. Remove the floor. Hmm, maybe I should try it then post screenshots. Be easier than explaining it in text.

@lisamwitt Nice! You could also have it completely enclosed without the pillars too, if wanted. ;)

I'm sure you could. You'd just pick a different foundation. And my Sim swims around in it just fine, although I obviously don't have options like "swim laps". It works.
I had actually built it to share for Halloween, but I also shared it in that challenge thread.

@lisamwitt That enclosed bit would be great if my Admiral 8Q sim catches another mermaid... :D
