First things first, I love the new pack. The best SP, to me. BUT...I don't get it. You guys either add new traits to CAS or to the reward store traits. Having ALL traits in both places would be MUCH more interesting, it would allow us to have more variety in CAS and more freedom in developing our Sims during gameplay. I love that we are getting a brave trait, but why adding it to the reward store and only to the reward store? Remember that you guys disabled the whims by default? How am I supposed to buy all the traits I want if you don't think I should be using the whims?Why i can have dozens of traits by buying them in-game, and be limited to 4 in the CAS?I have so many demands, desires, and questions!Are you guys going to update the whims to add aaaaaall the stuff from all the packs since you've updated the game to remove whims as enabeld by default? I'm still irritated my mermaid can summon thunderstorms but until she gains a certain number of aspiration points they'll still make her tense. Or in a few weeks, scared. And don't get me started on my sim who grew up in Brindleton Bay, developed the randomly assigned fear of water on a trip to Sulani, and now can't handle living in his home in BB because it's near the ocean.I like the addition of the fear emotion but I really wish we could control a little more of what our sims fear without having to earn reward store traits to fix them.

I believe because we have so little cas trait spaces they give them as reward traits. And I believe we have so little Cas trait spaces because rather than give the sim more personality it will make them just flip through emotions even more than they do more. But I'm just guessing.

The Reward store traits are quite different from CAS traits in almost every way. The reward store traits are specifically for mitigation of certain moods. That's why bravery makes sense. I just wish we had an "Easily scared" trait to go with it.

eh I quite like the reward traits cause aspirations are overly easy so i can always get few for my sims and those dont get counted for the cas traits so its much nicerespecially cause i wouldn't want to pick like 10 traits for every sim in cas cause thats just too much to choose at once and sims should gain traits as they livebut i do think they should add the normal traits to rewards as well so we could have anything we likethough it feels most traits hardly do a thingi also kinda wish they added fears like ts2 so it wouldnt be super easy to hoard everything you can buy with aspiration points cause those would actually decrease everytime sims do things they hate to be doing and oh boy I love doing that

From there type in the first command, testingcheats on then type Sims.Give_Satisfaction_Points 5000 for 5,000 points. If you want more or less, simply swap out the 5,000 for the number you want (no commas). Testing Cheats is likely not necessary to use this, it's just a precaution on my part.

Stop with the exclusive reward store traits!!!!

@Forgeron according to the blog, you can earn reward store points by living in haunted house:

Be Brave!

Living in a Haunted House adds a layer of risk and reward for your Sims, and each successful night yields Reward Store Satisfaction Points for everyone in the Household. Specters can also drop treasure that can also be collected, consumed, or sold to an Oddity Collector. So although your Sims might go through a bit of peril, they’ll thankfully be compensated.

@kusurusu you're totally misunderstanding my train of thought. I want the reward store traits to be available in CAS, as well as all CAS traits being available in the reward store. I just don't like that they limit us. If I wanted to create a sim that was brave from the beginning I would have to play with them to add the trait, save them to the gallery and use them later. Having it on CAS cuts half of the work I would have.

@EmersedCrown I think there's a mod out there that adds the reward traits on CAS, and the CAS traits on the reward store, but... you know... console players don't get mods. If you want I can search this mod for you later.
Anyway, the "lifestyles" are supposed to be like what you said, changing as we play. At first, it sounded super fun, but its SO hard to keep a lifestyle or to get one that I'd rather have permanent traits. OR they could add a notification telling us our sim is more inclined to another trait than the one I have currrently, and if I wanted to change it.

exactly. I'm ok with morning sim, night owl, etc being reward traits. But great kisser should be part of a CAS trait. And others reward traits too.

To me it seems like it should be the other way round. The brave and coward traits should be CAS traits and the others you mention here should be reward store traits because they are so specific to one kind of fear. Makes more sense to me.

They should make traits that aren't emotion-alterers tbh. Have traits that only affrct autonomy, interests and such, like in Sims 3.

Personally, I think only sims with traits like Squeamish and Clumsy should really fear them. Some other traits could have different reactions - hot-headed should be angry, Gloomy should be sad, Perfectionists tense (perfect weather ruined). One way or another, this is an aspect that should have different reactions based on traits. Because this isn't the case, traits are quite meh in TS4.

Another idea would be to have weather-only trait slots for those with seasons - choose one weather you like and one you hate for different results would be nice. Some effects should be tied to occults (such as mermaids being unaffected by storms).

@fruitsbasket101 then it shouldn't be a reward store. It should be a "evolution/specialization" tree.
As an example, Lover trait could evolve either to Faithful Lover, Unfaithful Lover or Noncommital Lover. I just don't know how it would owrk with most traits, like Fear trait... Someone could be both afraid of fire and water. Maybe the tree could allow you to pick everything you want, except the ones that would conflict like Faithful Lover conflicts with Unfaithful and Noncommital.
(I separate Unfaithful and Noncommital, cuz there are noncommital people that aren''t unfaithful cuz they don't get in relationships in the first place.)

@TomasGrizzly: There actually are weather traits in the game. You can get them by choosing your weather preferences in the social pie menu. Those traits are hidden by default, but they do have some impact on your Sims.

To add to that, similar to the concept of lifestyles, I think it would be cool if there was a way for sims to lose CAS traits and have them replaced with another as their personality develops with age. theoretically it sounds cool but lifestyles really be messing my sims up already like i have loners that apparently are now people person because they talk to their mom

and i have sims that are very romantic family oriented sims and keep getting single but loving it cause apparently im not making them flirt enough

and its starting to really annoy me because game just be deciding things by itself

like i would like lifestyles much better if i could choose if my sims want to have them or not once they gain them

I like the reward traits as it gives purpose more to whims without it I would never used whims I hardly use the potions in the trait store.
