Who Wants Auto Roofing Back?

no I never used auto roofing in previous sims, I love trying to find new ways to create roofs for the properties I build, if its too difficult to put a roof on I change it into a roof terrace and have a ladder (on a wall that's not going to annoyingly be in the way) to reach it and make it a spot for my painters or a chill out zone for adults

I tried that. I tried making a house in the shape of a honeycomb, ended up bulldozing it after trying for 2 hours. Luckily, I leave decorating and furnishing until last otherwise I would be bald due to stress lol :D

oh nooo! we can't have that! the house in the shape of a honeycomb sounds intriguing! so I say yes to auto roof as long we can turn it off like we could previously :)

I'm still determined to create a honeycomb lot though, so I better say goodbye to my hair lol

No, you're not. I'm so bad at it, that a couple of years back, well, make that about five years back, I shared a screenshot of my Legacy House. One Simmer private messaged me asking if she could 'fix' my roof. She did a fantastic job, I must say. Now, it's up to me to reverse engineer just how she did what she did. I miss auto-roof!

I'm guessing that auto-roof was prior to TS4? It does sound like a cool and much-needed feature. Roofing is not all intuitive in TS4, it takes a while to learn. I'm ok with doing traditional 2-panel gable-style roofs on a box-type home, but I'm lost when it comes to anything fancy.

And don't get me started on my arch-nemesis, aka stairs....ugh...

I personally never really cared for auto roofing in the other games. The roofs always turned out looking worse for me when using it. However I can understand how there is a need for it. Oddly-shaped houses aren't fun to roof. Lickily, I haven't built too many houses with weird shapes, usually just a few diagonals here and there. I wouldn't use the auto roof feature but who am I to deny someone else the option?

Ugh, yes please! I suck at creating good looking roofs. I miss the auto roofing.

I haven’t missed autoroofing once, so it’s not for me.
I do however think that it should be an optional feature as I’m sure plenty of simmers would use it!
