Accidental factory reset/Multiple Sims 4 Folders--Please help!!!

After the major Sims 4 update in early October of 2025, I (like many others) experienced the inventory bug that emptied a Sims' personal, household, and refrigerator inventory as soon as they left their home lot.
I came to the Sims 4 Forum and followed instructions from a thread addressing this issue:
- Move the Sims 4 folder to the desktop
- Open the app from there
- Play any household and have a sim leave then return to their home lot--if their inventory remained intact, it would indicate a mod issue and not a game issue.
After this test, it was evident that I had a mod issue, but when I went to move the Sims folder from my desktop back to it's original home in my Documents file, I saw that a new Sims 4 folder had been created in it's stead.
This folder has the same items as the original, but even after deleting it, it still reappears.
Moreover, when I open the game, I get a prompt that my video card isn't recognized (and the screen resolution is way off, causing my game to look as if it's being played under a magnifying glass).
Four different Sims 4 folders (and now they each have different files) later, I'm coming here for help.
