no loading with cc in game

my game is unable to load into live mode with cc in my mods folder. i am either stuck on the loading screen or get kicked to the world selection screen. after 8+ hours of trying to figure out what is causing this i have tried with a singular piece of cc in the folder and it still will not load. i have also tried different save files and repairing my game and nothing has worked. if anyone knows how to fix this it would be appreciated as i miss my sims

kandz8808 That's awesome news! It means that you aren't having issues with things like antivirus set-up, although you might have had an issue with something else in your folder, like a custom resource.cfg  file.

Next, you can copy files out of the renamed folder into the new folders that game made. That means copying files out of the old Saves into the new one, etc. Use those new game-created folder. Start with CC, in batches so that if a batch doesn't work, you can remove part of it to narrow the culprit down. This is a great opportunity to also reorganize your CC! I keep mine organized by creator name.

You might find How to Use Mods and CC useful, as it goes into detail about what to do when the game isn't working.

i have now done this and it is working fine with one piece of cc so where do i go from here?

  • kandz8808 Please do this test:

    1. Drag your whole Sims 4 folder from Document > Electronic Arts to your desktop and rename it.
    2. Run a Game Repair in the EA App. (If you use Steam, the equivalent is Verify Integrity.)
    3. Launch Sims 4. You should get no list of mods on launch, and you should have no option to load a previous save. Reset your Options.
    4. Exit the game.
    5. Now install one piece of definitely-works CC. I usually just download a recent peacemaker file because I know I can trust those to work.
    6. Reload and see if you can do anything in a new save now.
