every time i travel between lots, any leftovers i had in the fridge are gone when i come back. this happens whether its mine or another sims fridge.

I'm assuming you have mods, as this is the only current known cause of this issue. Update MC Command Center. If you saved with your inventory/fridge/bookshelves empty, load an earlier version of the save. See Broken and Updated Mods and CC for other mods you might need to remove or update. You might also want to see How to Use Mods and CC about how to manage your mods when the game updates. On the unlikely chance that you are here as a console player or had an empty Mods folder when this started, please reply with an @ and let me know.
