can’t go online sims 4

ever since i downloaded the sims 4 legacy edition i’ve been unable to go online in sims 4. when i go into gallery it only comes up with my library and i just purchased the new university pack but it’s not coming up in the sims 4 and on origin it says that it’s installed

    @Lucyhuang1223  I've moved your thread to the Mac section.

    Your Mac does in fact support Metal, but your current OS does not.  That's why you've been forced to use the Legacy Edition.  If you install at least El Capitan (10.11), you'll be able to run the standard edition of Sims 4, with access to the Gallery and future packs.  Open the App Store and search for El Capitan; you should see the option to download the installer.

    Sorry, but also will I still have to use Legacy Edition?

    Sorry for all of the questions, but if I do try and download the macOS catalina it says that Origin will require an update to install after I have downloaded the new software, and that if this update is not available then origin will not open, is this okay?

    The App Store on your Mac for Catalina, you can google for exact links to previous OSs.

    I'm having the same issue as the people previously, i have only recently purchased Sims 4 and didn't realise that the legacy edition isn't compatible with online features. I have attached my Mac specs, any help would be appreciated.

    I was wondering if you download the El Capitan extension how will you get the normal sims4 as a download?
