[INFO NEEDED] Sims 3 download stuck at 100%

So, I've been trying to install the Sims Three for a while now (I bought it through Origin). I will type in the codes, everything will go well, and origin will say that the installation is complete. Unfortunately, every time I hit play, it says that it's still downloading (at 100%). This is strange because I've had installed and have been playing with it for three years now. If anyone could help, that would be great.

    @WILLOWFOXIE2

I've moved your post to this one where all the information users post with this issue can be consolidated.

Firstly, please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612396/highlight/true#M162

Can you try the following, testing to see if the step works before moving onto the next one:

    1. Download and use the Origin reset tool from here - http://help.ea.com/uk/article/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
    2. Launching the game from within your Applications folder instead of through Origin
    3. Disable your wifi/wired connection so your Mac is not connected to the internet at all then try launching from the App in your Applications folder
    4. With Origin open click on Origin in the menu bar, then Preferences then Advanced. Scroll down and check the box to enable Safe Mode Downloading. Leave this enabled to move onto the next step.
    5. Manually uninstall the EP/SP that is showing the 100% progress bar then try downloading it again. Manual uninstall instructions here - https://bluebellflora.com/manually-uninstalling-an-expansion-or-stuff-pack-in-the-sims-3-for-mac/

@gaiser3348 It may help to know what game you're having trouble with. If it hasn't finished downloading, that means it hasn't had a chance to install, so it won't be showing up as playable yet, this is normal. 😉

Do a PC reboot, (gather you have checked Antivirus and Firewall exceptions)

Then on the Origin pulldown in the top left of the client , select application settings, then on the advanced tab , tick safe mode downloading see if this has any affect at all.

Also what occurs if you right mouse click on the game and select "repair game" if the above doesn't help

@gaiser3348 That looks like you might be running on a Mac, something I'm not familiar with, I'm sorry. There is, however, a board dedicated to the Sims on Mac, which you can find here, hopefully someone there will be able to help you if you can't find any help here. The only thing I can think to suggest is to try doing an uninstall and reinstall of Origin, you can find the most recent version to download (for Mac) here. Sometimes that can help with certain issues.

Out of curiosity, what happens when you try to play the game from the "download in progress" window?

This seems to be an emerging issue on Macs. I have moved your thread to this one so all information provided can be consolidated. Please can you provide the following information and try the suggestions:

Firstly, please can you provide more information about your Mac. Instructions on how to do so here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612...

    1. Download and use the Origin reset tool from here - http://help.ea.com/uk/article/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
    2. Launching the game from within your Applications folder instead of through Origin
