Mac OS not updating

My wife’s Sims 4 does not update for about a month now. The game starts and stays at 8% and never moves. It will stay there forever. We have deleted the game multiple times , cleared the cache and even taken the mods out of the folders and put them on the desktop. We have done everything we can think of and what we found before does not work. Any solutions we will try and see because we need it fixed.
