I have the same thing coming up. I am referring to the pop-up that comes when starting the game "Software associated with "The Sims 4" is not optimized for your Mac and needs to be updated."
I am now on macOS Mojave 10.14.2. and it still works but I am a bit concerned that Sims won't work in the future. Have you heard anything about this yet? And what will happen when Apple stops supporting 32-bit-programms?
And what is Activation UI? I looked it up on my Mac and it seems as if that is the only part of Sims 4 that still is 32-bit.

Sorry guys that it comes completely out of context, I tried commenting on #100 on this thread... I am new here and can't delete this or respond to the comment #100.
The Sims 4 is, and always has been, 64-bit for Mac. However, EA will no longer be supporting OpenGL, instead focusing on Metal so check whether your Mac is capable of supporting Metal - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205073
The ActivationUI process does seem to currently be 32-bit, the pop up message appears after a game patch or OS update. EA will no doubt be looking into this in time for the next version of macOS............ hopefully 🙂

So! my Sims 4 started to get a pretty bad lag a few days ago, (March 14th 2019) after 3 years of playing, and zero problems. I have also just bought Get Famous so I'm pretty sad right now. lol. I found a pretty good article that helped explain some things. Sorry about the F bomb. but, wow, I'm really disappointed. And kind of upset. Ive been troubleshooting for days now. Looking anything up to see what I can do to fix my game. And. Nothing.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but do we have to buy a new computer? or (if it's even possible) buy a new part for the MacBook? I was just on the apple site, checking to see if my 2014 MacBook Pro will support Metal, and there is no further explanation. Other than a part number/numbers, and a Tech Specs link. At first I literally thought Metal was an app or an update. It is safe to say I am totally lost. What is going on. Why is this happening. Help.

There is a stickied post at the top of this Mac forum on the first page explaining how it will affect Mac users. It also has a link to Apple's site confirming which Macs will be affected - https://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/The-Sims-4-Update-on-Supported-Systems/m-p/7677539#M16852
If you have a MacBook Pro from 2014 it will support Metal.

As @Wlc0349 said... new Mac Os Version (Catalina) doesn't support the app anymore... I used to play in Mojave as well... well... I kinda found a solution (not tested - https://tidbits.com/2019/09/18/moving-to-catalina-keep-your-32-bit-mac-apps-running-with-parallels/ )
Searching for a free one... but I think that's an option.

The Sims 4 DOES work with Catalina.
I had some issues myself after upgrading, so I contacted support and they sent me this link.they also told me, that they were aware, that many forums online are spreading the rumour that Sims 4 isn't supported in Catalina.
anyway...here's the link. I hope you'll find it helpful 🙂

That link is nothing to do with Catalina, they should have sent you this one - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Info-The-Sims-4-macOS-Catalina-Troubleshooting/td-p/8291917
