Registration code deactivated for security purposes
I have the base Sims 3 game plus 3 expansions (generations, ambitions and world adventures). All worked perfectly in the past.
I recently refomatted my mac and re-installed the base Sims 3 game. It worked with no issues.
Until I installed World Adventures expansion pack last night. The game wouldn't launch so I uninstalled everything and reinstalled again.
Again, the base sim 3 game worked, and then i installed World Adventures and clicked 'yes' to update. It kept trying to download the game update before launching the game but it failed numerous times. One error message that popped up was
"For security reasons, the registration code for your game has been deactivated. Please refer to your customer service website to resolve this issue"
I would like to know precisely who they are referring to? I purchased my games online from macgamestore. Do i contact them or EA?
I decided to contact EA. Submitted a ticket and had a chat going with EA Support.
Meanwhile, the launcher was still trying to download the update for World Adventures expansion.
Then i realised it was my WIFi. Halfway through the chat with EA support, my internet went out and the chat ended.
Right now this case is still active under "My Cases" but when i clicked on 'Resume', it says no channels and doesn't give me any alternative way to contact EA support.
I turned off my WIFI and tethered my phone to my iMac and successfully updated World Adventures.
But when I try to start the game from the launcher, this message appear -> "For security reasons, the registration code for your game has been deactivated. Please refer to your customer service website to resolve this issue"
Who do I contact and how can I get my codes reactivated?
Please help. This game has given me more problems with no easy straight-forward way to solve the issues.
It's just not worth the stress if the game makes you jump through hoops just to get it working like it should.
TLDR :
1. I bought this game and have played for many years, and now it tells me my registration code has been deactivated. How do I reactivate it?
2. How else can I contact EA support if the usual way tells me 'No available channels' - no chat, no call, no email address. How do I contact them when no channels are available for me?
UPDATE : I contacted macgamestore since I purchased the game through them. They have told me that the problem is services-related and only EA will be able to resolve the issue.

Don't worry about the already opened case, if it's giving you issues, you can create a new case and ask the advisor you will talk to to check your previous case.
