Sims 4 - External Hard Drive issues

I have been dealing with this for a few days now. I ran out of space on my internal hard drive on my Mac and I purchased an external hard drive. It has 1 TB. I am currently trying to move my sims 4 game and origin over to the hard drive. I have followed all the instructions online. 

I uninstalled everything Sims 4 related and origin as well. I created a separate folder within my external hard drive. I re-downloaded origin and waited 6 hours for sims 4 to download (I have terrible wifi lol). Origin installed perfectly fine to the hard drive. Nothing appeared to be wrong with it. I proceeded to open sims and I can't get open it. All I get is the message "The Sims 4 quit unexpectedly. Click to reopen application again." I had tried reopening it and reopening it and nothing is working. 

Someone please help. I would seriously appreciate any help given. I have literally nearly driven myself crazy trying to figure out what's wrong and trying just about everything.

    Is your Sims 4 app now on the external?

    Have you changed the game install location in Origin > Preferences > Installs & Saves so Origin knows where the game is installed to?

    If you are running Catalina have you made sure Origin and the game have access to external volumes in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Full Disk Access and Files & Folders?

    Yes! Both Origin and my Sims game are on my external. I have also changed the pathway to install to my external as well. My MacBook is running Macintosh, not Catalina, but do you think I would still have to do that?

    No, you shouldn't have to if you're not running Catalina, which macOS are you running (Macintosh is not an OS 🙂 ).

    Try repairing the game in Origin and see if that helps.

    Oh!! Sorry I’m new to this whole Mac thing. I think that’s honestly why this has been so difficult for me. My macOS is Mojave. Ive also tried repairing the game already.

    Yes I will definitely check out that repair! Here is my screenshot. The “origin games😕ims things” is the folder I created within my external.
