Sims 4 Not Updating

I have been trying to update my Sims4 for about 4 days on my Mac. It is continuously getting stuck and will not update, nor will the EA app allow me to stop or pause the update. I have tried clearing the cache, deleting and downloading the app again, and signing out. It has just stuck at 9% and will not move, even though my internet connection is stable as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    i have had the EA app behave this way with every single patch update since the lovestruck EP. maybe they are neglecting the MAC people? why did they have to force us to get EA app when they are going to do us like this
