sims won't do anything/get stuck
since the update, my sims are fine for a few min/actions then they break. they get stuck doing whatever they are doing, i.e. watching tv, and refuse to do anything else. i go to X it out and it grays...

Please can you explain the difference between these two steps you tried and what folders you are referring to? "folder refresh" and "delete folder to make another one".
Which exact model Mac, year and version of macOS are you using?
